Kingston Technical narrow gap on leaders Tivoli in Manning Cup

Kingston Technical moved closer to the top two in Group ‘G’ after beating leaders Tivoli Gardens 3-1 at Tivoli Gardens as action continued in the ISSA Manning Cup on Thursday.

Tivoli took the lead in the 14th minute through Ryan Oneil Francis, but Alwayne Bennett made sure it was honours even heading into the break with a 45th minute strike.

Bennett then put his team in front on the resumption, as he scored in the 53rd minute.

The points were made safe for Kingston Technical, thanks to Quawayne Hudson’s 88th minute strike to hand Tivoli their first loss of the season.

It means Kingston Technical now have 15 points, the same as second placed Jamaica College with Tivoli still on top in the group with 16 points.

Defending champions Jamaica College beat Spanish Town High 7-0 in the other group game. Elsewhere, Jonathan Grant hammered Greater Portmore 8-0, while Cumberland beat Meadowbrook 4-0.
