Warner Bros. Discovery launched its revamped HBO Max streaming service this morning under its newer, shorter moniker – Max.

As a result, the service ran into a few technical problems that come with any launch, as subscribers complained that they were having problems logging into Max.

The issues spanned the Max.com website as well as apps on phones and connected TV apps. Multiple subscribers reported issues logging into their accounts. Others experienced and have shared photos of error messages they’ve encountered.

Variety reports that in the wake of the launch, the company said the issues have been ‘minor’ and have swiftly been fixed.

A Warner Bros. Discovery spokesperson says: “You must always anticipate issues on a tech rollout of this scale. We can share that only minor ones have emerged and were quickly remedied.”

Warner Bros. Discovery has reportedly set up ‘war rooms’ in multiple locations to actively monitor customer reports of technical problems and get around to fixing them.

Whilst some HBO Max subscribers will have their apps automatically updated to Max, many others will have to manually download the new Max app, including users on Android, Apple, DirecTV, LG, PlayStation, Xbox, and Samsung TVs.

Social media has also been having fun with the launch, with NBCUniversal’s rival app Peacock, in particular, offering a memorable response to the launch via its Twitter account.
