Hades 2 is hosting a technical test ahead of its anticipated Early Access launch

Developer Supergiant Games has announced a Technical Test for their upcoming Action RPG roguelike sequel Hades 2. According to Supergiant, the Technical Test is a key step leading into the Early Access launch of Hades 2 which is getting closer. Those interested in participating in the Technical Test can do so on the Hades 2 Steam Page by clicking the green Request Access button.

The goal of the test is to find any underlying technical issues to ensure as smooth of an Early Access launch as possible. Even with a solid team testing an intricate game like Hades 2, there are bound to be a few pesky bugs that slip through the cracks and can only be seen when you have a higher volume of players trying to break things.

Supergiant plans to start with a small subset of players being allowed into the test, and then add more as the more emergent bugs are fixed. Once the team is confident things are more stable, it will wrap up the test and then launch Early Access soon after. While there is no planned duration for the test, Supergiant estimates it will be longer than a week but shorter than a month, meaning depending on how things go it’s possible Hades 2 could be launching in Early Access in the very near future.

Those granted access to the Technical Test will be able to play through the first major area and experience the ARPG’s early-game content including characters and systems. For comparison, Supergiant says to picture the original Hades without being able to progress past Tartarus.

Player testing and feedback from Early Access was a huge part of shaping Hades into an absolutely superb breakout title in the roguelike genre, so hopefully following a similar development style will have the same result for Hades 2. I’m ready to take on the Titan of Time!
