Toke Makinwa also took to her X account to write: “Awwwww… A woman publicly accepts to marry an abuser, there’s proof of this beast launching at his ex on video, he has stalked his ex for years and you say YES?? Naaa we gotta all come together to thank you for agreeing to take him so other innocent women don’t have to deal.”

Back in July 2023, Funferekenye “Bodiowei” Koroye was called out on social media for years of abusive behaviour against his ex-partners.

A number of women came forward with allegations of abuse against him. The allegations include emotional manipulation, stalking and rape.

A video was shared on July 8, 2023, showing Funfere Koroye publicly attacking his ex in the presence of multiple witnesses at an artist opening at Rele Gallery.

Another video shows a man charging at Funfere to stop him from attacking his ex.

After the video of Funfere went viral, other alleged victims came out with different allegations of abuse against him. One other victim also shared alleged proof of his pattern of abuse.

At the time, the Lagos Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Agency (DSVA) Lagos DSVA responded and said they are on top of the situation.

Following the allegations,  Funfere said in a now-deleted post that he lost sponsorship deals because of the allegations. This angered X users who were expecting an apology.

Later, Funfere said he was going to therapy.

Yet, Nigerians are concerned for his fiancee and they are warning her on X, formerly Twitter.
