Technology tools for Cat medium dozers add improved control assists and easier 3D upgrades

Two new technology packages for Caterpillar medium dozers add new functionality to models from the D4  up to the D7, providing more control including when using attachments.

Cat Assist with ARO (attachment ready option), formerly ARO with Assist, is a suite of features that will be included as standard on Cat D4, D5, D6, D6 XE, and D7 model dozers. A new Cat Grade with 3D Ready option will provide more flexibility for customers who are updating to Cat Grade with 3D on D4, D5, and D6 models.

Several dozer models including the D4 are now available with Cat Grade for 3D Ready, making it easy to update to full 3D control.

Cat Assist with ARO ensures that every new dozer in this range is equipped with a suite of Assist features that can be upgraded to Cat Grade 3D. These include Stable Blade, to make finish dozing easier; Traction Control, which reduces track slip to minimize wear, and Auto Carry, minimizing blade loads. A Blade Load Monitor provides operator coaching capability for improved productivity. Slope Assist holds blade angles with no GPS, Steer Assist automatically keeps the dozer moving straight, and ARO – Sensors (IMUs) are on the machine for GPS capability.

Cat Grade with 3D uses a GPS signal to automatically adjust blade lift and tilt movements that allow operators to reach design faster, save time, and reduce the cost of rework, labour, and materials. The new Cat Grade with 3D Ready option features factory-installed hardware required for the 3D system. The option includes onboard sensors, GNSS antennas and receivers, and a 10-inch touchscreen. This allows the 3D Ready hardware to be quickly updated to a complete Grade with 3D system.
