Steven D. Qualls Honored for Excellence in Information Technology Infrastructure

GLENDALE, WI, December 12, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Steven D. Qualls has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Qualls is an engineer and IT consultant with nearly 30 years of expertise in mission-critical infrastructure, storage solutions, and cloud environments. Before entering the technology sector, Mr. Qualls found success in the manufacturing industry, working in a factory while he pursued college coursework. After an industrial accident rendered him unable to work, Mr. Qualls returned to school at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with minors in computer science and math.

Mr. Qualls began his career with an internship at Rockwell Automation, where he provided technical support for systems used by the company’s engineers. He considers his time with Rockwell Automation to have been critical to developing the foundational knowledge that helped him build his career, and by 1995, Mr. Qualls was working as an independent consultant in the field. While maintaining his consulting practice, Mr. Qualls concurrently worked with several Fortune 500 companies, including a SAN administrator role for GE Healthcare and four years as a resident at EMC. Throughout much of his consulting career, Mr. Qualls was a contractor consultant for Dell, which led him to work on the $15 million 2010 overhaul of New York City municipal technology that would result in the construction of the MetroTech Center, a project he considers a career highlight. In 2011, he accepted a position as a solutions architect for PwC Consulting, departing the following year to become a storage solutions architect for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota.

In 2015, Mr. Qualls established Q & Q IT Consulting in order to consolidate his consulting contracts and move away from working with third-party firms. As the company’s owner and senior storage engineer, he manages mission-critical corporate infrastructure for clients, including overseeing storage, networking, and cloud computing solutions and ensuring the usability of all essential applications and components. While running Q & Q IT Consulting, Mr. Qualls continued to partner with industry-leading clients, serving as an enterprise infrastructure solutions architect for Harley-Davidson Motor Company from 2014 until 2020, and as a senior storage solutions architect for Matthews International Corporation between 2016 and 2020.

Mr. Qualls credits his professional success to his strong work ethic, adaptability, and natural aptitude for predicting industry trends and developments. He cites his early interest and adoption of new external data management strategies in the late 1990s, and his emphasis on virtualization and cloud computing as examples of the prescience and innovation that have kept him at the forefront of his field. In recognition of his commitment to excellence, Mr. Qualls has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades including several team leader of the year honors. In his personal time, Mr. Qualls is active in his community as a volunteer for his area Boys and Girls Club, where he teaches computer skills and technology classes.
