Omarion Hampton will lead the North Carolina Tar Heels (6-1) into their game versus the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (3-4) at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field on Saturday at 8:00 PM ET.
The Tar Heels played the Virginia Cavaliers in their last outing, falling 31-27. The Yellow Jackets’ last game was a 38-23 loss to the Boston College Eagles. Drake Maye threw for 347 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception on 24-of-48 passing (50.0%) for the Heels in that matchup against the Cavaliers. He also added six carries for 17 yards and one rushing touchdown. Hampton totaled 112 rushing yards on 19 carries (5.9 yards per carry). He added one catch for 19 yards. Devontez Walker hauled in 11 receptions for 146 yards (averaging 13.3 per catch), while scoring one touchdown against the Cavaliers. Haynes King went 14-for-32 with 204 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions for the Ramblin’ Wreck against the Eagles. He rushed 10 times for 150 yards and one touchdown. Jamal Haynes put together a 12-carry, 56-yard game (4.7 yards per attempt) with one touchdown, while tacking on one reception for 10 yards . Christian Leary caught four passes on 10 targets for 54 yards (13.5 yards per reception).
