BOSS’s credentials in the world of effects needs no introduction: the company is one of the multi-effects pedals market’s leading figures, with units such as the GT-1000 and GX-100 to its name.

Its enduringly popular ME Series is also a firm favorite among pro players and casual guitarists alike, and now BOSS has completely revamped the line with the ultra-powerful, high-value ME-90, which is available for $349.99.

It bears all the hallmarks of a classic ME unit with the comforting control layout and familiar aesthetics of its pedalboard-inspired predecessors, but there’s also a significant twist that will level up your tone game at an alluring price point: it’s loaded with BOSS’s AIRD Modeling tech.

Specifically, it’s got the same Augmented Impulse Response Dynamics technology that can be found in the best-of-class GT-1000 model, with the highly celebrated appointment being drafted in over previous ME models COSM amp sims.

The AIRD tech delivers genuine tube tone and authentic touch response from its amp models, which line up alongside an IR Loader for pro level speaker sims. In the age of the digitization of the gear world, you’d be hard pressed to find modeling technology as competent as AIRD, with the ME-90 marking a potent option for guitarists on the hunt for a traditionally styled, feature-packed multi-effects.

As an overview of its impressive feature list, there are 60 effects types drawn from the brand’s back catalog, eleven on-board amp models with dedicated cab sims (ported from the GT-1000), and 36 user and 36 preset patches for comprehensive tonal tweaking.

Via the BOSS Tone Studio, users can access over 20 more amp models, and there’s also a new FX loop for integrating other stompboxes.

As mentioned, the ME-90 pairs the AIRD modeling tech with an easy-to-navigate pedalboard form factor. There are eight quiet footswitches and a range of control knobs to select and fine-tune the effects, as well as a built-in expression pedal with an integrated toe switch.

The result is a highly intuitive multi-effects that shortens the user learning curve, giving users instant gratification through quick and easy access to some of its most popular and high quality effects and amp sims.

It’s an all-in-one guitar rig at an immensely competitive price point, weighing in at cool $349.99.
