Ispat Express develops ‘technical snag’, scores of passengers stranded at Bolangir

Scores of passengers had a harrowing experience after the engine of Ispat Express developed some technical snag at Saintala railway station in Bolangir.

As per initial reports, the technical snag was noticed at around 5:45 am on Sunday. This caused severe inconvenience to passengers as they have been stranded for the past two hours at the station. Ispat Express developed the snag soon after it left Titlagarh railway station and reached Saintala station.

Several passenger are travelling to Howrah in the train. Following the incident, a technical team of the Indian Railways inspected the engine for a long time. Another engine will now be used as the problem could not be fixed, said sources.

“I was travelling to Sambalpur from Titlagarh as I had a training programme. But unfortunately, the train got some issues. I will certainly face problems as I may not reach for the schedule training programme,” said a passenger.

Till the filing of this news story, the Kantabanji-Howrah Ispat Express was still at the Saintala railway station.
