A male student of St. Thomas Technical High School is nursing gunshot wounds following an incident at the school gate this afternoon.
Reports are that the wounded boy was involved in an altercation with another student when he allegedly brandished a weapon to stab the other student.
A passerby, who is a licensed firearm holder, attempted to break up the fight.
The man pulled his firearm and fired one round, hitting the teen.
The schoolboy was taken to hospital. His wounds are not considered life threatening.
The licensed firearm holder has reported to the police who are investigating the incident.
