SIM registration glitches, other technical issues? Here’s where you can report it

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) launched a 24/7 complaint center in order to address SIM registration-related issues and concerns quickly.

Prior to the commencement of the SIM registration on Tuesday, Dec. 27, DICT Spokesperson and Undersecretary Anna Mae Lamentillo said they are anticipating difficulties, such as glitches and other technical concerns, in the first few days of the registration process, stressing that all registrations made in the so-called “trial period” will still be valid.

Through the newly-launched SIM registration complaint center, the public may report their concerns or provide suggestions on how the process can be improved.

“The 24/7 complaint center will serve as a support system for the implementation of the SIM registration,” said Lamentillo in an official statement on Tuesday morning.

This is in line with DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy’s vision of accomplishing the registration within 180 days while ensuring that the processes will be as “seamless as possible.”

“That is why we launched a 24/7 complaint center so that concerns can be reported immediately and acted upon promptly,” she added.

According to Lamentillo, the complaint center is under DICT’s Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC). The public may reach the agency through hotline 1326.
