For getting smart about disaster relief

Director, Yayasan Peta Bencana

Nashin Mahtani initially started her career as an architect, but now leads the development of software to support disaster relief. Her non-profit organisation Yayasan Peta Bencana (Disaster Map Foundation) deploys the power of social media, using artificial intelligence to scour updates posted by people living in disaster-affected areas of Indonesia and provide real-time updates on the situation, as well as alert residents in case of emergencies.

For pushing the frontiers of autonomous vehicles using AI

Co-founder, Horizon Robotics

Fang Yi is one of four co-founders of Horizon Robotics, a Beijing-based technology company that develops AI processors for autonomous vehicles. In June 2022, the company launched China’s first robot development platform that integrates software and hardware, and has signed pre-installation projects for more than 70 models with more than 20 car companies.

For breaking down linguistic barriers

Co-founders, Langwords

Sisters Ooi Hui Yin and Ooi Hui Joy started Langwords, an AI-powered tool that provides translation, localisation, copywriting, transcreation and subtitling services across 50 languages. Since the company was started in 2015, it has worked with more than 300 companies worldwide.

For allowing the smallest businesses to leverage the power of technology

Co-founder and COO, Peddlr

For traditional general stores, leveraging technology to better manage business operations can be daunting. Fintech startup Peddlr, co-founded by Aiko Reyes, seeks to streamline that process for them. It gives small business owners in the Philippines access to a bookkeeping app that provides simplified POS systems, easy-to-read accounting reports and inventory trackers that replace traditional pen-and-paper logistics.

For taking the pain out of e-commerce logistics

Parcel Perform, co-founded by Dana von der Heide and Arne Jeroschewski, is a delivery experience platform that executes more than 100 million parcel updates daily and partners with over 850 logistics carriers worldwide. Allowing e-commerce companies to connect with merchants and customers, it is used by the likes of BMW, Decathlon, Nespresso and DHL. The company has a presence in 160 countries, with offices in Singapore, Vietnam, Germany and the US.
