Li Auto technology chief reportedly stepping down

Li Auto’s chief technology officer Wang Kai is leaving his role after around 18 months on the job according to 36Kr, marking a rare loss of top-tier talent for the Chinese electric vehicle maker. Wang left his position as a global chief architect at US auto supplier Visteon to join Li Auto in September 2020 and was responsible for the company’s technology leadership including the development of autonomous driving functions. In January, Meituan-backed Li Auto realigned its technology organization ahead of Wang’s departure, as Ma Donghui, a co-founder and the chief engineer of the company, took over the team, 36Kr reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
