SUMBLIME SATA to USB adapter is compatible with all existing IDE, ATAPI devices such as a CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-ROM and 2.5”/ 3.5” IDE & SATA hard drives. Complies with ATA, ATAPI-66 Specification 1.0. Our hard drive to USB adapter supports Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista and Mac OS.
Hardware Install:
1. Confirm device is under master mode.
2. Connect SATA/ IDE connector to SATA/ IDE device.
3. Connect AC power to SATA/ IDE device.
4. Connect cable to USB port of computer.
Driver Install:
1. Window98: Insert Driver CD to CDROM and run X:win98setup.exe before you insert the cable to your computer.
2. Windows2000/ ME/ XP: You don’t need to install any driver.
3. Mac 8.6 or higher: Copy Fene USB SATA/IDE_05E3_0702. sit to desk to desk to pand double click it to get driver file. Then copy the driver file to [System Folder][Extensions]. After that, connect cable to computer and reboot the system.

How to Connect 2.5″ IDE to Computer
1.Since IDE drive when connected to the hard drive adapter gets power from computer USB port directly, no power adapter in need.
2.Connect the hard drive adapter to computer USB port.
3.When connected properly, the hard drive will spin up.
4. Then your computer will recognize it in file explorer.

How to Connect 3.5” IDE to Computer
1.Connect power adapter to wall outlet.
2.Change jumper setting on your drive to master single drive mode (information of the changing drive mode is located on the label of drive).
3.Connect the end of the molex cable to the power adapter.
4.Connect the hard drive adapter to your hard drive.
5.Wait 20 seconds for the drive to spin up to correct speed (if it is an old version drive, please wait 30 seconds).
6.Connect the hard drive adapter to your computer.
