Product Description
Before you start: Please create a backup of your MacBook.
Step 1
Remove the following ten screws from the bottom of your MacBook Pro.
Step 2
Use your fingers to pry the lower case away from the body of the MacBook, near the vent.
After that remove the lower case.
Step 3
Use the edge of a spudger to disconnect battery connector from its socket on the logic board.
Step 4
Bend the battery cable slightly away from its socket on the logic board. This way it does not accidentally connect itself while you are working.
Step 5
Remove the two screws securing the hard drive bracket to the upper case.
Remove the bracket.
Step 6
Use the attached pull tab to lift the hard drive out of its place.
Step 7
Disconnect the hard drive cable from the body of the hard drive.
Remove the hard drive.
Step 8
Use the flat end of a spudger to disconnect the hard drive cable connector from its socket on the logic board.
Step 9
Remove the following four screws.
Step 10
Carefully peel up the thin IR sensor/sleep LED ribbon cable from the adhesive that is securing it to the upper case.
Step 11
Pull the front hard drive bracket containing the IR sensor/sleep LED away from the front edge of the upper case.
Step 12
Remove the hard drive cable.
CONGRATULATIONS! You have successfully replaced your old HDD Cable with a new one from MMOBIEL!
To reinstall the MacBook, use the previous steps in this manual and apply them backwards.
