From the manufacturer

Outstanding image quality for sharp, accurate images

The screen impresses with its anti-reflective finish & WUXGA 1920×1200 resolution, a very good contrast ratio of 1,000:1, & a max brightness of 350 cd/m2. You can edit graphics & images pixel-accurately. And, text contours are clear and precise. The wide gamut (99% AdobeRGB) IPS LCD panel allows 178 degree viewing angles, thus keeping color tones & contrast accurately in the user’s vision cone.

Wide Gamut Wide Gamut

Wide Gamut – ideal for raw images and printing

If you work with RAW or AdobeRGBimages, you will love this Wide Gamut Monitor. The large color space reproduces 99% of the AdobeRGBcolor gamut. If images taken in RAW format are converted to AdobeRGB, the monitor will represent these correctly. So you can see a bright blue sky and rich green forests in lifelike color – unlike monitors with sRGB color gamut. But even when printing, the EIZO monitor offers significant advantages: It covers almost the entire CMYK press color space (e.g., ISO Coated and U.S. Web Coated). You can accurately predict on the screen what the print will look like and dramatically reduce the number and cost of proofs.

uniformityuniformity

Constant tone value across the entire screen

Pixel by pixel, EIZO’s patented Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) adjusts all tone values across the entire monitor. The effect: The colors appear identical at every point of the screen, with no variations in brightness compared to conventional LCDs. The CS2420 also balances the effects of fluctuations in ambient temperature on color temperature and brightness. You can enjoy a uniform color and luminance distribution across the screen. A big plus for photo retouching.

Hardware calibrationHardware calibration

Professional calibration with EIZO ColorNavigator.

Accurate image processing is only achieved on well-calibrated monitors. Typical monitor software calibration takes a long time and requires expertise from the user. The CS2420 comes with ColorNavigator hardware calibration software. It can be carried out in just a few simple steps, even by users without deep technical knowledge. Advanced users can set brightness, gamma, white point, and other calibration settings as target values numerically. Because the calibration takes place through the hardware of the monitor, it is lossless and independent of computer and graphics card. The CS2730 fits perfectly into an existing system. Our EX4 external calibration sensor can be ordered as an optional add-on with the CS2420.

High-resolution- 16 LUT

EIZO microchip for optimum colour reproduction.

The CS2420 includes a custom-designed microchip (ASIC, Application-Specific Integrated Circuit), which EIZO has specially developed for the special requirements of professional colorwork. With its own algorithm, EIZO ASICs ensure precise, uniform, and consistent color representation.

10-bit color depth: one billion colors in the finest gradation.

Thanks to a 10-bit color representation based on a 16-bit LUT, you can use a huge color spectrum. Over a billion colors are available on the screen at the same time. That’s 64 times as many colors as a standard 8-bit display. Color gradations are finer and the spacing between adjacent colors lower, which means gradation banding is reduced or totally eliminated. Also important or post-production: The extended greyscale range. 10-bit image input providesup to 14% more grayscale range.

High-resolution look-up table.

With its 16-bit look-up table, the CS2420 draws from a table of 278 trillion colors, ensuring an accurate view of your image’s color. Dark color values, color nuances, and image structure are retained. This reliable and precise reproduction reduces correction steps and thus shortens valuable production time.
