NNPC Energy Services Limited (EnServ) and Schlumberger (SLB) Forge Technical Partnership to Enhance Upstream Operations

In a bid to drive strategic reforms and tap into opportunities within Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, NNPC Energy Services Limited (EnServ) and Schlumberger (SLB) have inked a technical partnership agreement aimed at strengthening upstream activities.

The agreement, formalized at NNPC Ltd’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja, saw the participation of senior management teams from both entities. Speaking after the signing, Mr. Mele Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, hailed the ongoing industry reforms as catalysts for attracting investments in the near term.

Kyari emphasized the potential for increased investment spurred by regulatory reforms and improved contracting processes initiated by the government. He highlighted the partnership’s benefits, foreseeing heightened activity and enhanced value creation for both organizations.

NNPC is set to launch a rig share platform to optimize well drilling operations, bolstering crude oil production and supporting the nation’s gas utilization agenda. Kyari underscored NNPC’s commitment to leveraging its assets to maximize the partnership’s benefits.

Expressing confidence in the longstanding NNPC-Schlumberger relationship, Kyari reiterated the commitment to mutual value creation. Mr. Olivier Le Peuch, CEO of Schlumberger (SLB), echoed Kyari’s sentiments, emphasizing the partnership’s role in accelerating Nigeria’s exploration and production targets.

Le Peuch highlighted Schlumberger’s dedication to local capacity building and technology transfer, pledging support for NNPC’s operations and national development goals. He affirmed Schlumberger’s commitment to leveraging technical expertise and capabilities to drive industry progress and contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth.
