Arab Organization for Communication, Information Technologies Launches Arab Strategy for Cybersecurity

The Arab Organization for Communication and Information Technologies launched the Arab Strategy for Cybersecurity. It was prepared by the organization to serve as a roadmap for countries to developing their national strategies for cybersecurity.

This came at the conclusion of the Third International Conference on Information Security and Cybersecurity. It was held by the Arab Organization for Communication and Information Technologies over two days in Cairo.

A summary of the strategy distributed by the organization today stated that the Arab strategy for cybersecurity depends on 4 main axes: digital transformation, digital innovation, digital inclusion, in addition to the axis of digital trust. These axes pay special attention to cybersecurity and data protection, and there are 8 work programs. The strategy aims to organize the cybersecurity sector in the Arab region at the government level so that there is a unified measurement indicator.

The strategy identifies the challenges facing Arab governments when working to secure their cyberspace and the best way to deal with them through five main topics: implementing comprehensive cybersecurity governance in Arab cyberspace, protecting the application development process, securing communications infrastructure, securing data management, and supervising space.

The Arab Cybersecurity Strategy aims to achieve unified and harmonious development and growth within the Arab region. It also seeks to protect cyberspace from rapidly developing cyber threats.
