During his performance at Lollapalooza 2022 in Chicago’s Grant Park yesterday (July 30), Lil Durk was injured when it appeared that stage pyrotechnics exploded right in front of him. Durk shared a photo of himself on Instagram showing that his eye was bandaged. Right after Durk walked into the explosion, he abruptly stopped rapping and used his shirt to try to wipe his eyes, footage showed. “Whoa,” his DJ can be heard saying. “You all right, bro?”
“Due to the incident that happened at Lollapalooza in Chicago on stage, I’ma take a break & focus on my health,” he wrote. “I finished my performance yesterday for my fans. Appreciate y’all.” Pitchfork has reached out to Lollapalooza for comment.
Durk is currently scheduled to perform later this month, with more dates set for September and October. Lollapalooza continues in Chicago for its final day today with headliners Green Day and J-Hope.
