Rogue Company's mobile game set for an iOS technical test

After nearly a year, developer Hi-Rez Studio’s team announced that its mobile adaptation of the relatively popular competitive 3rd-person multiplayer shooter Rogue Company will be starting an iOS technical test soon. This is the first piece of news related to the game since the reveal back in August of last year.

After an open beta test for players who signed in using the Verizon network a few months ago, the development team has now announced this technical test with a focus on iOS. Typically speaking, technical tests are hosted pretty close to the release of a game, so we could be seeing Rogue Company drop for mobile pretty soon.

For those unaware, Rogue Company is a competitive PVP third person hero shooter, meaning that it has a large cast of Hero characters who each have unique abilities that can be used to gain the edge over your opponents. It’s usually hosted in a 4v4 setting, though there is a 2v2 mode as well. You will buy new weapons and charges for your abilities each round, and rounds will either end when the objective is complete, or either team eliminates the other. The game has been out on PC and consoles for some time now, and has seen relative success throughout the year it has been out, so the mobile version might be even more populated than usual on launch with an already established fanbase.

If a competitive third-person Counter-Strike-like title sounds up your alley, you can get yourself registered for this technical test to try out the game and help the developers see how everything runs on your Apple device. To do so, head over to the official sign-up page where you’ll be asked to fill out a few details like the platform you’re playing on, email, phone number, the usual rigmarole. This will give you the chance to help Hi-Rez get the game ready for launch, and will also give you a chance to play it ahead of time, so give it a go!
