The CS2740 ColorEdge monitor from EIZO fulfills both requirements perfectly. With 3840 x 2160 pixels, which corresponds to a detail resolution of 164 ppi, giving you an ultra-sharp monitor display.
True Vision
The ideal combination of large color space and maximum precision
Show precisely what the camera saw. That is the most important task of a graphics monitor. That is why every ColorEdge CS2740 is individually measured and optimally adjusted in the factory – inhomogeneities such as differences in brightness and color casts are recognized and permanently eliminated. All ColorEdge can be hardware-calibrated loss-free so that this factory-made perfection remains constant over the entire service life. A processor (ASIC) developed by EIZO calculates the required color commands in the monitor with a color depth of 16 bits. To be able to reproduce saturated colors brilliantly and differentiated, the CS2740 masters the standard color spaces (e.g., 99% AdobeRGB).
USB-C
State of the art connectivity with USB-C
Monitor signal, fast data transfer, and power supply of up to 60 watts, all this and more can be achieved with a single USB-C cable. The ColorEdge CS2740 thus becomes the central dock for the graphic workflow. Peripherals such as B. mouse and keyboard, hard drives, card reader or printer can be connected directly to the USB hub of the monitor. Mobile devices such as laptops or tablets can even be charged using the USB-C cable. In this way, a laptop and CS2740 can be turned into a full-fledged desktop workstation with just one quick movement.
16-bit LUT and 10-bit color depth
Smooth transitions and gradients thanks to 16-bit LUT and 10-bit mode
The LUT (Look-Up-Table) of the CS2740 calculates internally with an extremely high color depth of 16 bits, and the panel then outputs the signals with up to 10 bits. As a result, billions of color tones are available for calculating the precise monitor display, effectively preventing display errors such as banding or clipping caused by the monitor, which result in tone value breaks in gradients or color casts in the gray levels. Even fine nuances and structures in dark or heavily saturated areas of the image are shown differentiated and true to detail.
Ready to use out of the box
Every single ColorEdge CS2740 is individually measured and optimally adjusted in the factory to be ready for use immediately after unpacking. For this purpose, the red, green, and blue channels’ gamma curves are checked closely and, if necessary, corrected. This unique EIZO factory calibration allows the user to use the monitor with the preset color spaces right after unpacking – out of the box. This complex factory calibration is also why the recalibration with the ColorNavigator is so quick for the user.
Hardware calibration
It is essential that the monitor is regularly calibrated to ensure that it always displays the same file in the same way over its entire service life. To do so, all ColorEdge monitors employ lossless hardware calibration. Unlike software calibration, which always involves the risk of loss of display quality, hardware calibration not only creates an adjustment profile for the graphics board but also calibrates the monitor’s LUT (look-up-table).
